Ashiatsu involves the massage therapist using their clean, bare feet, to apply broad, firm pressure on muscle groups. The broadness of the foot makes it much more comfortable to receive firm pressure and deep tissue when compared to a forearm or elbow. The pressure can easily be modulated depending on the clients preference. Holding onto bars secured to the ceiling, the therapist is able to use these bars for both balance and leverage.
